Replacement Kitchen Doors

When you have a new kitchen, you need to consider that a great deal of the expense is involved in having whole cabinets, as well as having these cabinets fitted. Do you think you could manage just fitting the doors yourself? It’s an easy job, and one that could save you a small fortune.

It is often the case that your cabinet doors are looking shabby, as these get the most wear. The actual cabinets that are attached to the wall are probably in perfectly good working order. When it comes to buying new doors you have such a wide range of colours and finishes to choose from, that you will be able to change your kitchen into pretty much anything you desire.

You need to decide upon who is going to do all of the work, once you have decided to take the plunge, and get those old doors off! Lots of people enjoy such challenges, but then there are plenty among us who do not. For some it is a case of patience and time that they are just not equipped with. There are contactors out there that will undertake the work for you. They would probably prefer to be fitting a whole kitchen for you, money-wise, but they will still do it, and you will still be saving money.

If it is a case of you wanting to remodel your kitchen, but you still want your doors, then there is a solution to this as well. You can get your original doors refaced. A process whereby they are basically refurbished. The process involves removing the old doors and having the surface that covered them, removed. They are they re-surfaced with a new material which is usually either a type of laminate or a wood veneer. This is a very time consuming job and is also one that involves a fair amount of skill. It is worth employing a specialist for such a job, but you can attempt it yourself.

There is a relatively new product on the market that goes by the acronym of RTF. This stands for rigid thermal foil, and is often used in the manufacture of replacement kitchen doors. It is a lot less expensive than wood, and is constructed of fibreboard, that is then covered with a pressure moulded foil laminate. This then receives a vacuum sealing, which serves to make it waterproof and leak proof.
